"If you told me last week that I'd be in this situation, I would have laughed in your face. I mean, the supposed bad boy needs me to be his fake girlfriend in order to impress his dad into letting him take over the multi-million dollar company in a few years and show everyone he's not the player that he is. Out of all the girls in our school, he's chosen me even though we've never even had a proper conversation without it ending in anger."

Zack and Cara don't exactly get along: He's a big-headed player and she's the complete opposite. Their equilibrium is to coexist, without any interaction but then Zack needs Cara's help. He has to convince the company that he can be comitted and mature enough to run it in a few years. The only way he can think of is to find a girl to pose as his long-term fake girlfriend.

Zack and Cara have to put aside their differences for the sake of the plan. Both have something to prove but what they're not expecting is to pick up something else along the way.

"A guy isn't going to care if you're laughing with a dude," he said. "You laugh with friends. You do this with someone who is more than friends." Wolf placed his hands on my waist, pulling me in flush with his body. He dipped his head to my ear and whispered, "See? No one that looked at us right now would think we're friends." ------------------------------- When Savannah's long term boyfriend, Tripp, breaks up with her out of the blue before their annual summer lake vacation, she's devastated. Enter Wolf. He's the son of her parents' best friends, who happen to share a connecting lake condo. Savannah hasn't seen Wolf in two years since he stopped coming on family vacations. He's notorious for trouble, the exact opposite of Savannah. Wolf shows up one day and suggests that they pretend to be in a relationship during their two week vacation. He's convinced that his mom's adoration of "good girl" Savannah will change her mind about his recent house arrest. In exchange, Wolf suggests Savannah can use their fake relationship to lure Tripp back by making him jealous. Savannah is hesitant, but is just desperate enough for Tripp's attention that she agrees. Spending time with Wolf on their pretend dates becomes a problem when Savannah begins to have feelings for him. After all, Wolf is off limits. Her best friend has a major crush on him, and Savannah is supposed to be with someone sensible like Tripp, not the lead singer of the high school rock band, Wolf and the Midnight Shepherds. In the end, Savannah will need to decide if falling for Wolf is worth the consequences.
