Working at a funeral parlour in a mundane village Ruby longs to be more like her best friend Angie who is adventurous, gorgeous and intelligent. Ruby lives with her dad while her mum is off creating a string of husbands but when Ruby takes a trip to London with Angie and her mother begins insisting that she visits, Ruby's life in the shadows of her friend are about to fade away...For good. 1968 is the year that changed her life for ever.
