The true story of a loveless childhood. 'utterly extra ordinary. Harrowing, deeply disturbing, but ultimately inspiring.' Daily Mail I handed my school photograph to my mother. She stared from the photograph to me. 'Lord, sweet Lord how come she so ugly. Ugly. Ugly.' These cruel words are just the beginning. Constance's mother systematically abused her daughter, both physically and emotionally, throughout her child hood. Regularly beaten and starved, the child was so desperate she took herself to social services and tried to get taken into care. When Constance was thirteen, her mother simply moved out , leaving her daughter to fend for herself: there was no gas, no electricity and no food But somehow Constance found the courage to survive her terrible start in life. This is her heart breaking-and triumphant-story.

Once my mum held unrivaled fame and power as a guild member, commanding respect across the world. Then, unexpectedly, my parents left London for the tranquil beauty of the Lake District. Now, on the cusp of my 13th birthday, we are returning to London, to the heart of my parents' former guild. This means I will attend the prestigious school they once graced. But beyond this, I am on the brink of a pivotal event - a Reveal Day. At 13, we undergo a ceremony where our elemental magic is unveiled, determining our destiny, education, and path in life. Yet, life in the countryside is no idyllic retreat. It harbors peril, with monstrous creatures and dangerous animals lurking, some with bounties on their heads, requiring the intervention of guilds to eliminate them. P.s I asked the A. to create my book cover how cool does that look 😁
