Riley is unfiltered. She's melodramatic. She's independent. She's also a hot mess. These things and many more play into the story of Riley Jackson, as she moves with her mother from the suburbs of Pennsylvania, to a small town in Florida, to complete her senior year of high school. Life is anything but perfect for her: she's moving because of her parents' divorce, she's trying to figure out how to get through senior year in a new school, figuring out what to do about college, AND she's reunited with her childhood best friend (and crush), Shane, who may or may not be the same person she once knew him to be. And let's not forget his vengeful ex-girlfriend, Annie, who can't seem to let him go. Attempting to get through life in her own signature and sarcasm-laden way, Riley has to learn the hard way how to make friends, possibly find love and learn that she can't do everything on her own, and most of all, that sometimes, it's okay to live in the moment without planning it all.
