Lyea Deegan, just wanted to be free of it all. At 16, everything became too much too fast.
After a failed attempt at ending her own life, she finds herself in a mental institution. The doctors and nurses, with the exception of one, treat her as if she's a child and just learning mobility or how to speak. Her one escape is the abandoned library, where she meets Zander Ross, a patient at Greenville sanitarium . When the two are banned from being in the library at the same time, they leave notes and other meaningful objects within one book, The Green Sea.
