A Day in the Life of Fiction (part 1)

Jaden is a normal boy starting his last year of high school at a normal school. He just wants to graduate and move onto college smoothly, so this last year of high school will be uneventful and completely normal, just like his previous years. He definitely doesn't want to experience anything close to what those sappy novels call "love at first sight".
But obviously, that's not going to happen. After all, this is a fictional work you found online, right? Since when would something like that be uneventful?
