The man lounged upon the lowest yardarm of the mast, toying with a coin in his hair as he surveyed the scene of captives below.

I glared up at him through my lashes, wishing he would fall and crack open his daft skull.

As if sensing my thoughts his attention left the coin and shifted to where I sat, hands tied behind my back. A grin spread over his face, "Well..." he purred out, "now isn't that a pretty sight."

I sincerely hope he was staring at my bosom because he fancies the gold and pearls that rests between them.

He waved down at the dirty men carrying various things between ships, "her too...I like her, she's...." He licked his lips, "just lovely."

My eyes grew wide as I was roughly pulled to my feet and they started to drag me away.

The wardrobe was opened. I can't help the tears that are leaving my eyes. I still haven't made any eye contact with them yet. Fear is running rampant. "Look what we have here, boys." He says. I watch his feet as he drifts his body away from me to give the three other men a look at me. (1) "A boy" chuckled in amusement. (2) "Perhaps our newest young swabbie." One of them laughed in response. (3) "Young spring, rise up so we can see your face." One of the men said, (2) My body was frozen with fear, and I made no move. "Now young, Swabbie. You may be of use to us yet." (3) I glance at their shoes. Slowly standing, my legs trembling slightly. I wipe my tears with my palms. Then look at the burly men before me. "Come on, wee lass, the captain will surely be missing us." One of them states: (1) I only shake my head no. His smile disappeared within a few moments. I gulp my spit. After a near-drowning three days into our move, my moms (yes I have two moms) are more than reluctant to let me out of their sight. But alas, as a redhead, I never could stay out of trouble for very long.
