A attempts to implement spoken-word based poetry into the post-Romantic Drama literary movement started by A. As opposed to other poetry collections written by A, "Signals" does not follow one specific event or feeling, but rather it is of many different events in A's life. While there is no direct connection, "Signals" can be considered a companion piece to "Novel," and should be read after "Novel." However, both collections are not epics, so the connection between one to the other may not be apparent. They are companion pieces made solely for the purpose understanding the writer, A, a bit better, as well as have a new view on life. This follows A's own philosophy of life, as well as the second major work to forward his literary movement, Post-Romantic Drama.
