Prequel to Splinters: Run Once eighteen-year old troublemaker Bryson Palmer gets into a domestic fight with his father, he is sent away to live with his ex-step mother in Middleborough, Massachusetts where he meets Marie Edmonton, a lonely, feisty girl with few friends and a less-than impressed family. All the two teenagers needed was unconditional love and happiness. With parents who lack the title, they feed off of each other's bad habits with no inclination to better their family lives. The relationship between Bryson and Marie is unhealthy and toxic, and it all gets plenty worse just eight months after they meet. After discovering something that will change their lives forever, they spontaneously decide to run away to New York and live on their own, engaging themselves in financial issues and dark situations. Plenty of obstacles come their way, but it isn't just about them anymore. They have someone else's life they need to care for. Caution: self-harm themes, drug abuse themes, and frequent strong language. For these reasons, this story is rated as Mature.
