This a story about a woman's transformation from upper-class professional to a low income ceramist. Belinda is a very successful professional in Charlotte, NC. until she witnesses something that brings all of her morals into question. She takes personal responsibility to suffer in vigil for the rest of her life. Which will end when the food runs out in a few weeks. That's her plan anyway. She doesn't want to live anymore. Not when she made it impossible for that little kid to live. No one punished her. She was usually the one to handle things so she handling her imprisonment and pending death. Will it be worth anything? Will her punishments make her feeling any better? Probably not. What she doesn't understand is that she's been more than heavy handed with her terms. You can't measure one life for another. An eye for an eye isn't exactly equal when you consider that no two people see the same. One life can never be exchanged for another. Even twins experience life differently and impact the world in a unique way.
