She's always prepared for the unstoppable goodbye and he's always waiting for the inevitable end. She's just waiting for a point to the mess they call life and he's just preparing for the relief they name death. They're two lost and tortured souls, wandering endlessly, trying to figure out the point of why they're there. They're trapped in their heads and in a pitiful society run by money and status but when they run into each other... Are they each others escape? They're hooked on the idea that they could be each others happy ending but God, there's that nagging thought, the one that whispers in their ear. Telling them that maybe nothing happens for a reason, maybe we're all just lost souls waiting for the day where everything works out, that maybe we've all fooled ourselves on the thought that everything will be okay when maybe, just maybe, it won't. Because the moral of this story is that no matter how hard we may try and how much we may want it.. Maybe there just is no happy ending

"Come on you know none of it matters. none of it matters without this, us." {The first book in the Tethered series} Bernadette is no stranger to what lurks in the shadows and the pain it brings with it. For the better parts of her life were spent being pulled into the darkness, she learned quickly that in a world of sorrow it's better to disappear than face it. No one managed to save Bernadette from the tidal wave of anguish she rides on, until Alicia. But no good things truly last and if somethings too good to be true it's doomed to fail. Falling for the ghost who wandered its way into his life was never Hudson's plan. But then again, Hudson's plan seemed to be drowning out the existential dread about what his future entailed with stinging fingers and an ashy throat. The pair of them made no sense from an outside perspective. How could the guy who dances on heartstrings and the girl who finds solace in evanescing ever fit together. But perhaps when you bury your true self so far, the only person to get it back is someone who did the same. Unmasking the secrets kept so deep inside is a difficult task, but sometimes Love can push you into it. Indeed, they had a love to end all love. A love for the ages, one to shatter limitations and exceed all bounds. A Ghost and her Tether. :)
