The Descent Into Hell is Easy

This is a short story I did for a creative writing assignment uhm I know it has some major grammatical errors but please just try to understand that I don't have a ton of writing experience so bear with me I will only get better with practice. any way this first story the assignment was that we had to take the hook from an already existing book and use that as the hook to our story. if I knew which book it had come from I would give credit to the author because I don't want to plagiarize or anything but unfortunately I lost the slip with the information on it. anyway if anyone recognizes the hook from somewhere please message me so that I can give the true author of the beginning line the credit that they clearly deserve. lastly because I know there is going to be at least one person who says something I would like to assure everyone that though the first line is not mine the rest of it is and id would appreciate if nobody would take credit for my hard work either, if you would like to use pieces of my stories or write spin offs I ask that you please just message me to ask first I really appreciate it.
