The Gifted

Atticus Greenes is living in a world with people who have super powers that range from shape shifting, to absorbing lightning and shooting out of your ears. People who have these abilities, are called Gifted, and they are just as common as any other group of people. Atticus, being Gifted, has the rare ability to summon a Black Scythe out of thin air. He uses this mostly to show off, and compete in sparring matches at his high school, West Seattle Academy for The Gifted Youth. But once his school days are complete, he can use it for defending the world. An ancient evil lurks, down below the earth's surface, locked away in the core. Unknowingly, on the day he turns eighteen, he unleashes this evil, and it is his duty to put it back where it belongs.
