Katelyn Reed feels like she doesn't fit in. As far as she's concerned, she has every right to feel this way: her mother got married again, her older sister, Maggie, is on engagement number two, and her father has a new family. That's not to mention her heartthrob boyfriend Marcus being suddenly too busy for her. In comes an Arizona-born, skateboarder/surfer boy, Wyatt, who is determined to make Katelyn's summer before college one to smile about. Wyatt is fun, exciting, and most importantly, he makes Katelyn feel like she belongs. Now, the question is, can Katelyn handle balancing her perfect life with Marcus and her family along with her sudden ambitions with Wyatt by her side, all at once?

Marissa Allen dreaded the idea of spending a few days camping with her family and their neighbor. She was a city girl, and the thought of being out in the wilderness, with no Wi-Fi or cell phone reception, terrified her. But her parents had insisted, and she had reluctantly agreed to come along. As soon as they arrived at the campsite, Marissa realized her mistake. They were cramped in a tiny RV, sharing it with the entire family and their neighbor. Marissa's parents were enthusiastic about the trip, but Marissa just couldn't shake the feeling of being stuck in the middle of nowhere. As the days went by, Marissa started to notice her neighbor's son, Jake. He was tall, handsome, and had a rugged look that Marissa found appealing. They started talking, and before she knew it, she found herself drawn to him. But she reminded herself that she wasn't the kind of girl who believed in love or romance.
