You see me from a distance, I haven't curled my hair, it just hangs down, oiled and plaited. I don't use whitening creams, my skin is fed only by water and sandal. I haven't pierced anywhere except my ear, which adorns two pearl studs. I don't wear jeans and short skirts, but I am swathed in silks and cottons. I haven't carved tattoos on myself. It's just a bindi on my forehead. And, No! I haven't used mascara, its only kohl entrapping my eyes. But that doesn't mean, I am a dullard; old fashioned and dumb. I was not born to be ignored, because of my ways. I am sure and strong and never will I change to suit your needs; for I am a girl of Bharat and I am proud of being one.
