In the end, Arima Kosei was saved from his fall but his beloved, Kaori, died. But what if there is an Alternate Universe wherein Kaori Miyazono did not die? What if Kaori Miyazono does not have any unknown incurable illness in the first place? After the last piano recital of Kosei, where Kaori was supposed to die, everything went back to normal. Tsubaki was still looking over Arima and continue being a softball player, Watari decided to move on from his one-sided love with Kaori and focused on soccer club. Arima and Kaori are still friends, sometimes going out to eat Canelé, playing in the river or in the music room. Everything is normal yet perfect. The time continues to move. Kousei is overjoyed that the girl he loves is alive. He and Kaori share a tender embrace, so glad to be together again. But a singular question nags at the back of Kousei's mind. How is this even possible? Surely it could just be a strange, one-in-a-million miracle. Right? As Kaori's father, Omni Man, looks upon their romantic reunion, he smiles in triumph. His daughter's Viltrumite blood was awakened by the poking and prodding of the surgeons. And now, he has someone to help him bring Earth into the Viltrum Empire. Kousei Arima's world has come to a fiery end. As if losing the beautiful, free-spirited Kaori Miyazono two months ago wasn't enough, a hellfire of nuclear missiles suddenly descended upon his home just as he was about to enjoy another spring. As far as Arima knows, he is the sole survivor of the unexpected apocalypse. Trapped in his fallout shelter by debris, he has no choice except to ration out his meals and wait to die. Then, suddenly, Kousei is rescued by two unlikely allies: Black Widow, last surviving member of the Avengers, and Arnim Zola, a dismembered consciousness now in an Ultron drone's body. Just when Kousei thinks things couldn't get any weirder, two strange beings emerge from a portal in the sky. One is a sorcerer of unmatched skill; the other is a celestial guardian of ALL universes. Then, one day, a free-spirited violinist comes into her life...... ....but then, Kousei finds out his fate may be in jeopardy. What will become of Kaori? Tsubaki? Watari? And most importantly, Kousei's rivals? Will Kousei be able to express his feelings towards Kaori, and can she save Kousei from his hell before it is too late? ----- As you can tell, this is an alternate retelling of Your Lie in April. But the fates have been reversed (and before you ask, Kousei is the ill one, not Kaori, who is far from that in this story), which will make for quite a gripping, if not heart-wrenching story, maybe more so than the original. ----- Please note, I do not write fanfics often, but I feel this is a story the needs to be told.
