Elizabeth is perfectly normal.  She is smart, pretty, and nice.  Everyone likes her.  She seems to be perfect in everyone's eyes. Or is she?

Liz's step-father doesn't think so.  Neither does her mother.  But her sister Katie thinks she can do anything she sets her mind to.  But Liz constantly wonders what to do.  How to help.  But she never figured it out.  What can she do?

Liz's step-father, Thomas, is abusive and rude.  But Liz doesn't understand how her mother, Mary, could have fallen for such a mean man.

Now seventeen, Liz has run out of options.  She has to get out of there.  She can't take it anymore.  She has to get help.  It's the only way to stop him.  Stop him from hurting Katie.

But, when Liz takes action, she finds things out she never knew, and probably didn't ever want to know.
