"You knew better than to fall in love with me," I whisper, as I gently caressed her face and enjoyed the way she sucked in a breathe, and her cheeks reddened.
"I'm not in love with you!" she glares at me, and pulls her face away from my hand as she crossed her arms and huffed in annoyance. But I could see right through her. She had fallen in love with me, but was too afraid to admit it.
"Well then, that's just a shame," I sighed dramatically, but made sure she knows that jokes aside, I was serious.
"W-what? Why?" she began to get flustered again, but her eyes were still narrowed. She knew I was being serious. I always threw our feelings aside, but we had to talk about them at some point. She was falling, and fast... and I wasn't exactly sure how I felt about that...
Oh who was I kidding? I knew...
"Because I'm in love with YOU," I emphasized the 'you' and sucked in a breathe as the words came out of my mouth. All playfulness and amusement being replaced with seriousness.
