Moments later she sensed the bulky presence of her middle-aged supervisor as he took a seat next to her. "It's almost over now." Bernard stated matter-of-factly. She merely stared blankly at the ground. "Ruby..." his voice was gravelly.

"Hm?" she turned to see his face level with hers. His bronze eyes, normally unreadable, were filled with concern.

His voice lowered. "Are you ready?" he questioned urgently.

She looked back down at her feet. "I think so," she wavered.

"I hope so," he whispered firmly in return, leaning in closer to her. "Remember what I said. Shut all of this out, keep your wits about you. Have you been doing what I told you to do?"

Her pony tail bobbed up and down as she nodded slightly, pursing her lips together.

"Good. You'll need all of your strength."

Ruby Renoldo is an up and coming, young agent in Zone C, with a long, promising career in espionage in front of her, but that has never been what she wanted. Her father, one of the most successful agents in the history of Zone C, was mysteriously killed on her fifteenth birthday, and since then Ruby has made it her mission to discover the true circumstances surrounding his death. Unbeknownst to her, this hidden agenda ends up getting her entangled in a web of lies and deception that goes much higher up than she ever could have expected. When her loyalty is questioned, she will have to decide if knowing the truth is worth the price she'll have to pay.
