Sakiko is a very well respected and treated member of the Sereitei. She's not just any high class soul reaper though, she belongs to a clan where they possess the sacred women. Every generation there is a special woman from the clan to bare powerful shinigami children. Sakiko's mother was the previous sacred woman, and as her last female child, Sakiko is now the sacred woman. Although she holds such a vital responsibility, her heart is set out to be away from it all. And when she meets Ichigo, she succeeds in being free but her heart is stuck with someone else.
