Kato, is what the mountain men call a 'savage' but her people call a warrior. The rare black blood running through her veins could one day put her in charge of the twelve clans but also left her in charge of killing the enemy.

When she is sought after and taken by the Mountain Men (for killing their precious map maker), even presumed dead by her clan, she must fight to get out safely - but how will she get out without putting those she loves in danger?
In order to get home and away from those who have the blood of her people on their hands; she must place her trust in those she never believed she could.
