The Legends team have just succeeded in escaping from, and apprehending the band of Time Pirates who took over the Waverider and the Akeron, but in doing so have determined that Mick Rory is too dangerous to remain a part of the team. Len 'takes care of it', and with the new temporal data given to them by Captain Eve Baxter they have set their course for 1950's Oregon to complete their ultimate goal. But en-route to their destination they 'crash' into a creature even the time masters thought to be a myth. A race of beings known only as the Celestials, said to be the children of stars, with the ability to shape shift and read the thoughts of men. Maia is a Celestial, though a young one, and has run away from her home in the star she was named for, accidentally crashing into Captain Hunter's ship on her way.
