Prince Alexander is tired of his subjects always demanding reform. When his sweetheart, Guinevere, recommends he send in a spy to keep him updated and advise him on how to hold their revolutionary spirits at bay, he eagerly agrees (the most thrilling part that he won't have to read those ridiculous reports anymore). And Elle, better known as Cinder-Elle ugh, or Cinderella, moves into the castle. And Cinderella begins to turn the kingdom upside down.

In this retelling of a classic tale, Mariette struggles through life with a stepmother that hates her. When she is whisked away at the prince's ball, she begins to believe that her life is going to change-that is until the prince discovers that her slipper is a perfect fit for her stepsister. Fighting the urge to confess her secret, Mariette and her family move into the prince's castle, where old friends-and fiancΓ©s-are reunited. Note on Setting: This takes place in a kind of fictional France (hence many of the names, though they speak English). Postscript: "Lady" is a title given to woman married to a man with an estate, much like "Queen" is given to a woman married to a man with a castle. "Mistress" is given to a woman yet to inherit an estate, though of high-class breed (one would not refer to a beggar or maid as 'Mistress'). Monsieur (pronounced Mi-syur, despite the spelling) is a title given to a man that has yet to or has inherited an estate.
