The day the infection started in my town was a day of great loss, I lost friends, neighbors, and family. I lost my dad because he had become infected. The military gunned him down like he was some sort of war prisoner in a firing squad. My uncle Alex and I were taken to a quarantine zone in the Rockies, safe from the infected. The infection, officially named Kinoses, takes over the brain and shuts it down, then reanimates to something like a zombie, but not entirely a zombie, they don't breathe, or need sunlight, or water or food, they only want to eat the flesh of humans, but the infection does spread, the infected have about a ten year lifespan, and when that time is up, their heads explode and spread the infection to whoever it can get into, whether it is from an open cut or through the mouth or anywhere else it can get into. You can also get infected by getting bit, like my father was.
Season 4 of The Virus Within
Trinity is familiar with zombies, being one herself, but when strange zombies start appearing, she realizes that the world she knew might be changing yet again.
When a dangerous set of scientific notes are discovered, Trinity and her friends don't realize anything is wrong until a frantic radio call comes in. Unaware of the notes, they race to the south and struggle to determine where the strange zombies came from. The zombies are unlike any ranks previously seen, and they aren't as predictable. Some have new tricks hidden up sleeves, forcing any Stronghold they encounter to quickly adapt to the new challenge or risk being overrun. Secrets never remain hidden, and zombie apocalypses never make life easy.
