The Boston Institute is home to the Maplebow's. When mysterious murders of Downworlders, Shadowhunters, and Mundanes alike the clave sends in help. In the form of three fifteen year old Shadowhunters, Willow Herondale, her twin brother Wallace Herondale, and Willows parabatai Kenneth 'Kane' Blackstone. The three must work with the Boston Shadowhunters to uncover who is behind these murders and what they are planning.
