Could this really be an haunted house? The very thought made shivers crawl down my spine. Haunted houses aren't real. Are they? It was just ten o' clock and all noises from the neighboring town ceased. The stillness was terrible. I could have yelled with the horror of it. Even the crickets had ceased their chirping, all the world might have been dead. Then I must have felt drowsy, but could not say if I had dropped off to sleep. All I knew was that suddenly I was wide awake. What was that? I sat- up my hair bristling - my skin cold and clammy. Follow me to see more of this story. What secrets lie in the realm of the human mind? Maybe our terrible acts are due to supernatural interferences or maybe it's a sickness inside us. There's one thing for sure, though- The worst things happen in the most unexpected places... ---------------- Suburban Nights is a collection of short horror stories based on my personal experiences, thoughts, and dreams. Growing up in sleepy suburban towns have perks, but there's always something terrible bubbling beneath the surface. Story Description: 1. The Husband - Your husband has been acting a little strange lately at night. 2. The Neighbor - Your quiet home life suddenly gets really uncomfortable when you realize your elderly neighbor has been watching you through his window. 3. Public Restroom - You look back at your childhood to figure out where your fear of public restrooms came from. 4. The Screaming Woman (Pt. 1 & 2) - You wake up abruptly to sounds of a woman screaming only to be faced with your worst nightmare. 5. The People Upstairs - Your upstairs neighbors are loud and obnoxious without any regard to you. You become fed up with them until you realize what they've been dealing with. Some of these stories are not for the faint of heart and may contain blood, gore, abuse, and strong language. You've been warned.
