Apprentices Frozenpaw, Snowpaw, Icepaw, and Frostpaw were former rogues adopted into four different Clans when they were newborn kits. Now determined to prove their loyalty at all costs, they are rendered completely shocked when all four of them receive a prophecy they must interpret before the Clans fall into war.
Alarming battle after alarming battle, the clock is ticking for the four young cats to bring back the desperately needed peace that once ruled the Clans.

As they get older, the time grows nearer for them to choose successors who will receive their immortality which has been passed on to them by their own mentors. But this group is hiding something, and it is only a matter of time before it is revealed to the chosen successors. Petalwish is unsure if she really should be loyal to CliffClan. She loves her clanmates dearly, but the clan deputy seems to watch their every move, just waiting for any cat to slip up. But it's the clan she was raised in. So, she should be loyal to them, right? Keenkit always figured he and his littermates were normal kits who would all become apprentices and be able to train together. But when a strange cat takes his sister out of StreamClan on the day of their apprentice ceremony, he quickly realizes such hope has become impossible. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either. Pounceheart is always treating him like some helpless kit and he worries he'll never be able to complete his warrior assessment. Being a healer who suffers from severe anxiety isn't easy, but Twitchpaw knows as long as her mentor is there, she can get through it. Leafpaw is another apprentice of ForestClan but when love unexpectedly enters her life, she is forced to choose her loyalties between her clan and her lover. Darkpaw, Leafpaw's brother, meanwhile, is slowly uncovering the clans story, piecing together the events of the past that continue to haunt the clan. However, a prophecy has been foretold and trouble brews on the horizon. Could it be that these three apprentices will be the ones to save the clans?
