This isn't really a story or a book so much as it is advice, and an apology to someone really important to me. Probably incredibly obvious advice but its easy to make mistakes regarding it. So this is about context. Its pretty common to use slang, abbreviations, joke names/words/phrases, emojis etc. We live in a world full of things like these. But sometimes we use them in the wrong way, because we're so used to using them lazily or casually. Sometimes we use them excessively or in the wrong situations, even if we're careful this can backfire and affect people. Not everyone is going to see something exactly as you see it, and this can impact a conversation so easily and so fast, you might be at a loss about what to do. This probably sounds like an utterly stupid and trivial post, but its a big deal if it happens to you. The wrong nickname or reaction of any kind at the wrong time can hurt someone when they really don't need or deserve it, and it can make you wonder how you possibly screwed up, even though you did. I can feel the cringe writing this, as its seriously not my best writing but that's a lazy excuse. Pls don't judge me :o THE MORAL OF THIS FABLE IS: Think before you talk, even if you're busy or distracted, it can make all of the difference. Wait till you're not busy, or focus Basically, be careful with how you converse, especially if you're talking to someone who's just told you something upsetting. Again, obvious but its easy to mess up. You don't want that, especially when the person in question is someone you really like/love, and is one of the most important people in your life. Stupid emojis. You know who you are XD

My Teddy

The corner of his mouth tilts upward slightly. I smile again. A smile!? A tiny one, but still. "Hm. So I got you to smile, that's progress, yeah? Can I get your name now?" I ask, swinging my feel a little. He shakes his head shyly, his mouth not moving at all. Geez! Why do I want to hear this dude talk so much? "Okay, that's fine. I can give you a nickname." I offer happily. He looks up from his book, raising his eyebrows. I just stare for a moment. He has nice eyes. Pretty brown chocolate orbs. They remind me so much of....... "Teddy." He shakes his head immediately, frowning. "What, why not? You remind me of my old teddy bear. He was a good listener and he didn't talk much..... just like you." I say softly, tilting my head. He continues to shake his head. I fold my arms, leaning back in my seat. "Yeah, it's definitely sticking. Teddy.....It has a nice ring to it, yeah?" He sighs, the first sound I have ever heard him make. "No." . . . *Jordan* Teddy!? Seriously!? She gave me a fucking NICKNAME!? What the hell does this girl want!? I stuff my hands into my pockets, walking down the busy street. Forget about her. She's just a annoying pretty girl, she'll go away. Everybody does. She HAS to go away. *Spoiler alert*: she doesn't. Don't get close to people or they'll end up getting hurt. That's my mindset. I've been through enough of that. This girl doesn't belong in my world anyway. She's too innocent. *Mature content* {Just a quick update, I am basically rewriting the story. I wrote it when I was in 8th grade and it makes me cringe every time I try to go back and edit it so keep in mind that it'll get better}
