High school years are the best of your life, right? Not for Sapphire. On Sapphire's 16th birthday, a day that was supposed to be one of the best, she loses her boyfriend in what she thinks is a tragic accident. Not being able to face the memories that resurface at the high school that the two of them had attended together, Sapphire is force to switch schools in order to move on with her life.

Once at a new school, things start looking up for Sapphire. She has a new group of friends and a guy that she's beginning to take interest in has her thinking that maybe she's finally ready to let go of the past.

When circumstances of her boyfriends death begin to unravel and painful memories of her dead boyfriend rise closer to the surface than ever, Sapphire begins to realize that switching schools may not have been such a good fix and that there may be more to her boyfriend's death than what she had originally thought.
