I used to live a normal life like a normal 12 year old until my mom and dad dissapeared one day and never came home from work.. I was thrown onto the streets of New York and ever since i've been living in poverty and and off of food i've begged for and being called "bad names" and shooed from restaurants trying to find where my next meal will come from. All of this changed when I met a boy similar to me, there's only one difference, hes a thief.

She went back completely wasted and needed a place to stay for the night since her dad was on her ass about getting drunk so she stays with him. I hope you like the book, there is going to a mild amount of swearing and lots of drinking and smoking. Everything is made up beside the state they live in. There are two kinds of people in this world, normal people like you and me, and the Strays that are ridiculed because they're not fully human. I'd like to think why we aren't treated the same, but I'm just a normal human girl. What can a person like me do to change something as big as the status of Strays in society? Well, when your father runs a cafè that's a bit understaffed, sometimes you can get desperate. Any song lyrics or quotes that I use in this book that aren't my own are credited at the end of the chapter that they are featured in if I don't directly recognize it in the story itself.
