The Darkness

"Have you...." She paused for a second, trying to find the right words. "Have you ever missed someone so much that you physically feel sick?" She didn't know if her words were making sense, or if they were pouring right out of her mouth and falling flat on the icy ground beneath their feet. He shook his head in the darkness engulfing them, making it seem as if the world was ending. He stared at her like she was an alien, and there she was again, stranded alone on her desert island.
