I am about to be sacrificed! It is necessary for my planets survival. If I don't then the God that lives in our sun will shallow our planet whole. But a man is here telling me that our planet isn't worth saving. He is giving me an out of a path that I had no choice in, but if I do everyone will die! What would you do?
This is a short story that I wrote for an @SciKick competition the goal was to involve 1000 in some way and keep the word count under 1000. I managed to do both in a story that I am pretty happy with. However I will let you guys make the decision on it.

A meteorite slams into the earth causing a global catastrophe, the particles on the atmosphere block out the sun for years, slowly cooling the planet leading to a world-wide ice age. Humans find refuge in dome cities, pre-build when the meteorite was detected, which are meant to last under the snow for thousands of years. In the process, technology brings forth the age of immortality and unprecedented automation. The result is a decaying society blind to any cause and drugged to survive the endless parade of years.
