How far would you go to protect the ones you love? Would you fight for them? Would you kill for them? Would you abandon them in order to protect them?

Drake is a man living in a world gone to Hell, torn apart by the Third World War. All he has left is his sister, Alice. When members of a gang find their way in his yard one day he must defend himself. This drew the attention of the two ruling gangs in the area. "The Fallen KIngs", a vicious gang of killers and "The Peacekeepers", the only remaining form of order in a chaotic world.
Who will live? Who will die? Above all, what sacrifices will be made?

In a small village, half hidden along a mountainside, Kieren was slinking between shadows. Footsteps sure even with so little moonlight. The softest brush of bare skin against knobbled and far-reaching trees. Not even a whisper of sound from stepping on the coarse dirt beneath his feet. In this world, Drakes were the epitome of power amongst the species. Only making up 10% of the population, humans making up the other 90%. Drakes could be found in the highest positions of power in communities or in positions to protect others (such as guards, watchmen, knights, patrolman). No one questioned this, dragons taking care of their own. A private species with traditions and rules that only dragons were privy to. Making sure none over-reached so that there would always be peace and harmony amongst the dragon territories and between humans. A symbiosis that all worked hard to maintain. Humans were born with vibrant and colorful hair throughout the world. The more rare the color, the more blessings, respect, luck and riches came to them. Fiery red, leafy green, aqua blue. Eyes that matched their brightest feature. Dressing in the same colors or even brighter shades to demonstrate their extravagance, their standing in society. They normally worked side by side with the higher ranking dragons, helping to keep harmony. All Kieren knew was that he would have to remain cloaked, face obscured at all times. The villagers said he was a defect, so they made him their servant. His skin too pale. Form too slight. Eyes not right. An ugly thing where he should be thankful they did not kill him right away. To be grateful for their pity and staying their hand. The worst, they would tell him, was about the coloring of his features; his hair and eyes. It was a color that had never been seen before amongst humans or dragons. *Please read tags! Don't like, don't read, don't leave unhelpful nasty comments.

The world has chewed up and spit out Eleanor Robinson again and again. It began with her parents, one taken by a tragedy, one addicted to horrific drugs, and a brother who's too boozed out to know if she's alive or dead. Alone in the world, Ellie isn't exactly sure of how life works, of how anything works, really. The only two people she has that even remotely understand are Sebastian and Scarlett, a pair of siblings that remind her so much of her own family, it's hard to be around them sometimes. When the trio finally move in together after being friends for almost three years, they end up closer than ever. But the move brings along another problem into Ellie's life. Cole Everett is a fighter. From the moment he was cast aside by his family, he's had to fight for scraps at the orphanage dinner table, fight for a spot in the light of his foster family's eyes, and fight for the love of his adoptive parents. It seemed like he never won when it came to personal battles, but in the ring... In the ring, he owned the world. Years and years of the world kicking Cole's ass has shaped him into the fighter Ellie and everyone else sees him as. But the world has also shaped Ellie, and the sweet, heavy-hearted girl paints on a façade that seems only Cole can break through. As the pair attempt to navigate a decent enough relationship to be in the same room as one another without going for the throat, the people around them float between blurred lines of friend or foe. Hearts clash, past enemies arise, and the pair's hearts hang in the balance of it all.

Alison Wright is dead. Not symbolically, not emotionally : clinically dead. A car. An impact. Darkness. And yet, she's still breathing. Brought back to life by a pact she doesn't understand, Alison quickly realizes this return is no miracle. Her heart beats again, but every beat comes at a price. To atone for her passage between worlds, she must face the Lost Ones. Every time a human dies with deep regrets... they rot, and transform. These souls take shape, linger, attack. And now, they're hunting her. Fortunately - or unfortunately - she's not alone. Assigned to a sarcastic and unpredictable demon named Harley Blake, Alison must learn to survive, to fight, to make sense of this hidden world... all while resisting the strange bond forming between them. Harley is no guardian angel. She's blunt, fierce, and doesn't hide her contempt for humans. But behind the fangs, something slumbers. Something softer. And far more dangerous. And as the Lost Ones draw near... Alison begins to wonder: What if the most dangerous thing here... is what she's starting to feel for her own demon? A second chance. A deal with hell. And maybe... a love neither of them expected. ⚠️ Warning, PEGI 16 ⚠️ This book contains: - Explicit language - Scenes of verbal or psychological violence - Threats of a sexual nature -drugs -some demons a little too horny -duck -mention of blood -Gun violence -Organized crime -Non-explicit sexual content In short: if you are sensitive to this kind of content, I suggest you skip it.
