The eerie owl was once a myth ought to frighten the children from wandering to the baslow forest at night but as time went by Elijah Vedharde soon discovered what truely lies upon it. As he made a deal with the unfathomable creature to be dead in order to reunite with his lover Amenda, a curse of immortality followed. His sights began to be clearer as he gained extramudane abilities but his hunger craves for a human heart. Dealing with remorse and guilt he chose to runaway.

As centuries passed he returned to  Baslow where all things he once remembered is now changed. Above all this he soon finds himself falling in love again with a girl who looks exactly like Amenda
