If you had a chance, would you take it? Fifteen year old Addison Reed took her chance when she tried to prove her younger brother, James, wrong by swimming on a full moon. James believes that Addison's biological parents were Sesedri, or shapeshifters who came ashore and left her there as a small child. After seven years in the foster system, Addison was adopted by the Reed's, who had recently lost their mother to bearing James. They had always wanted a little girl, so Mr. Reed set out to adopt Addison. Soon enough, she became part of the family! And just when she thought she had a normal life, her adopted father loses his job, forcing the Reed family to move from their picturesque home on Leland Lake, to their uncle Phil's house which is in a small town of the coast of South Carolina. Can Addison finally be an ordinary girl? Or will her life be drastically changed for the better?

But when a required freshmen paper threatens his eligibility, the two are brought together in a sick twist of academic fate. Cameron can't get him out of her head and Wesley isn't making it any easier with his cocky smirk and insistent charm.
