"Dear Gilbert I'd rather call you Love, because I like someone else as well. Dear Love I changed the top 8. It's gonna be a top 10 and the boys are in a different order." This is a real diary, raw and (mostly) unfiltered. Set in the Netherlands, you can follow my journey from childhood to adulthood - a rocky road full of obstacles, including but not limited to: hyperreligious parents, mental health issues, trying to find love, finding my queer identity. However, it is also a testament to the importance of strong friendships, honesty and authenticity, and human resilience. I think most people will relate to parts of my story, some more than others, but I want to share my journey because no matter how hopeless life can feel, it will pass, and you can find beauty in the small moments in between. This part runs from December 2012 to May 2015 and covers my last years in middle school (4th-6th grade). I mainly focused on all my romantic interests during that time (there were a lot) and how I got along with my classmates. While there was some friction at times, I was doing relatively fine still, though I was quite delusional. Read the introduction for background information and the best way to get through it. All the names are changed to American ones to reduce the chance of anyone being negatively affected by this.
