Five years after the events with the Sheriff and Mongoose, the Valley is becoming more populous, but as the population grows so does the violence and unrest.
Being the Captain of the Watch, Mongoose has turned to desperate measures to keep the peace among the people, but outraged citizens soon question Mongoose's leadership.
However, the greater threat to the Valley is the rise of the sickness.
An influx of strange travelers come to the Valley. One named Cynthia possesses a special power.
A supernatural presence makes itself known in the nearby forest. Men of the watch begin to worry.
A host of men led by the Harbinger show no mercy to those they meet and soon leave a blood stained trail of carnage and death where ever they go.
Violence and death once again stain the Valley, with the clash of supernatural powers in the fight for survival in book two of the Abolition Series.
