Donny has to move.
Because his mother gets a promotion in another country and he knows he can't leave her alone, he starts at a new university for his second year.
Donny doesn't really mind that, he has always been a really open minded person. He also doesn't care about the pack that he finds out lives close by.
Only when he finds his mate does he decide that yes, this might have actually been a positive change in his life.
But what if he suddenly finds out that his mate already has another mate?
What if that other mate looked just about as strong as him, so he can't just let him 'disappear'?
