Mal is the illegitimate child of Leaf's father, resulting from an affair. Taken in by him and his wife, Mal has a lonely and miserable childhood, made only bearable by his half-sister Leaf. Soon, he is taken from there by Leaf's uncle, adopting the name of Thrones, and his memory fading away until he is all but raised as Leaf's cousin and remembers nothing but vague memories of pain and misery and indistinct faces. One of the team's leader even wants her to join them, but why? Also, who is the ally who is most willing to help her? For Sapphire, she will face many foes, family, and friends, old and new, on her journey, pushing her past her limits for power. Can she do it?
