War is cruel. It plays with the hearts of men as if they were toys incapable of exhibiting emotion. This poem is about how WW2 was a terrible, bloody battle that made people, not only leave their loved ones behind, but who they were as a person in general. I entered this poem into the schoolastic poetry competition back when I was in 8th grade. It received a silver key. I am not very good when it comes to writing poetry but I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing :)

This is a story that I wrote based on a timeline between WW2 and now. It's a romance (nothing inappropriate--) that I began writing in 6th grade and finished in 8th. I've tried redrafting it, but this is the original. Hope you don't like it so I can get some helpful criticism! :]
