Makka was just an ordinary 17 year old girl, originally from the Wammy Orphanage - a place for gifted children who may have carried the traits to be a successor of world renowned detective, L - her being one of them. One day, she and her best friend, Light Yagami, come across a strange notebook that will forever change their lives, quickly becoming the worst thing that has ever happened to them. Light begins to entertain the idea that he play God and free the world of sin, and decides Makka can be a big help. Soon, his plan of an all-good justice utopia takes a turn for the worst, when the police force and L are called in to solve the case, with it's ring leader, Light, or as he becomes known to the world, Kira. Makka soon has to work with L, and is tangled in a huge predicament, as she can't betray Light, but, being a successor, she also can't fail L.

But then I meet L, a member of the group who's working on the Kira case, the best detective in Japan, the one person who hides his identity.... Can I tell him..? Can I trust him...?
