TJ is a refugee. She was raised to endure the horrors that now lurk the night out in the open. Trained to face those kind of fears, to run and hide, to stay off the grid. But when her brother died everything changed. Left alone, with no one to run with, things were not looking too great. TJ finds herself joining society, being locked inside an orphanage, wanting wishing, to be back on the outside where it was safer, more natural feeling. But instead she is forced to join the way of society once again, to follow their rules. TJ struggles with trying to protect herself and trying to find a way to fit in. The past always finds a way on creeping up with us though. Secrets that TJ has kept buried deep are uprooted, lies exposed, truths spread. But even though she was hurt and burned many times, she still finds a way to forgive. When a new situation desperately needs TJ's help, asking her to once again leave everything she knows to help a young innocent life, she goes. But not everything is as safe as it had seemed.
