I immediately felt the comfort from the silence around the hiding blankets in the alleyway. Ever since I was twelve I had been roaming and exploring these hidden streets, and knew them like the back of my hand. So when something was out of place, I immediately noticed. Two dark eyes stood out in the shadows. They were dark and warning, but also so welcoming and warming.
"Are you lost or something?" I asked the stranger. It was unnerving to meet someone new. And at a place I had basically grew up in, was even more unsettling.
