The following is an exclusive short story titled, Unbidden. I advise against reading it if you have yet to read the first book in the saga, Unhinged. Thanks to everyone who has, and who's continued on with Spencer's journey! It truly means a lot, and I hope you all enjoy(ed) the third book in the saga, Unbound, as much as I enjoyed writing it. Betrayal
"As I was walking home, a Lamborghini pulls up to me unexpectedly. Twisters got out of the car like ants and walked up to me. "Why were you talking to Ava?" Jayden asks as he rubs his fingers through his sharp blade. I say nothing and shrugged. They look at me and their anger increased. "Answer me. Why were you talking to Ava?" He repeats. "Don't know. Don't care." I say carelessly. What was wrong with me? They could literally take me out in a heartbeat, and no one would ever know. Jayden balls up his fists and makes a punching gesture. "You won't answer me? Fine. You're dead meat now, brother." He says and smiles as he runs toward me. I didn't have time to think and just ran really fast to home. Please let this nightmare be over with! I didn't have time to run home and they eventually caught up to me. They cornered me and Jayden slashes his blade on my cheek. I screamed in pain. I was already dumb enough to try to talk back to Twisters and was now dumb-founded to be cornered by them. "Stop!..." I finally muttered. They laughed and Jayden held me up by my shirt. "Do you seriously think I'll just let you go that easily?" He says and chuckles." *INSPIRED BY THE OUTSIDERS* Shout out to my math teacher because she wanted to be included! "Goodbye Curly Head"
Through thick and thin the Law shall prevail. A new sense of purpose awaits us, children of light, in the land where it all began. The darkness in which we once cowered in fear, now curbed by the might of our endless light. Come, brothers, come, sisters. Let there be peace among the wicked, just as the Law dictates. Peace and certainty is all that you have ever longed for, little angel. A bright, stable future. A roof without holes above thy head. Acknowledgement and recognition of thy existence, feverish dreams of grandeur. Greed born from yearning, treacherous vines of rapacity taint your innocent soul. You seek a future that does not exist. Let thy fingers hold the fragile line between dream and nightmare. Let thy light navigate the path. Shall thee give in and falter, O' land of old, envelop his body in thy unending flame of chaos. Spit out nothing but an empty husk, the remnants of a smile once so bright. Shall thee prevail, O', Great Kazdel, I ask of you, the impossible - take mercy on the innocent. Don't let the radiance dim and don't let the mind turn bleak. Wake, young traveler. Bid thy farewells and burn thy bridges. It's time to say goodbye, curly head. Cross post from AO3. It's a little story "about a young, dumb sankta who's been dealt a bad hand at life, looking for his place in all this mess. The pointless search for a better future leads him far, far away from home, to a country forever ravaged by war and misery - Kazdel, the promised land where devils roam free and peace feels out of place." The darkness of the past catches up to the present and looms over the future. The now-grown undead god meets someone from his past for the last time in his infinite life. An ancient artifact that unlocks a hidden ability comes into his possession and will stay with him throughout his infinite life. Excerpts: Hearing that title broke him from his mental preoccupation. _Oh, no. Not her. Not with these people._ Glancing around the table, he saw that everyone was looking at him, overtly and covertly, watching and waiting for his reaction. ... (Bare- Part two) "What if I say, I lied to you?" he asks, leaning close to my face. "What do you mean?" "I lied to you, Aarthi," I stared at him. "About what?" My voice trembled when I asked that. I am not clueless about his deceits, I just pretend not to notice that for all these days. "Everything," Vijay smiled. That's the height of evil I have seen in my life. I don't know what to say, I don't know what to do. I just looked into his dark eyes wondering why I had failed to notice all of this. It is my fault, maybe it's not. He's a good liar and I am a scared fool. Aarthi and Vijay's lives seem to have gotten a perfect ending... Aarthi felt that way when Vijay assured her they will be happy from now on. That's one of the wrong assumptions she again made in her life. Nothing has changed, it has gotten worse to her dismay. She's trapped with Vijay and she doesn't know the way out of this... even if she finds a way, she doesn't think she can take a step towards that.
