Ben's injuries are too severe for him to be at the Institute, they needed a warlock's magic. Basically, what would happen if Alec had a twin brother named Ben. ------ A/N: The story begins with Jace's thoughts when he goes through he portal with Valentine at the end of 1x13. In this story, all events of Season 1 of Shadowhunters have happened, but it won't really go along with Season 2 as I started writing this before it, and most of the trailers for it, came out. I'll add in some stuff from Season 2, but it will NOT follow the season exactly.

He's 23 years old and arrested for murdering his very own stepfather, but the reason isn't what everyone thinks it is. It's much worse. Diagnosed with schizophrenia, Magnus doesn't quiet know what's real or not, but one thing he knows for sure is that ever since Alec Lightwood arrived at the prison, the voices in his head has begun to disappear. The question is, will Magnus be able to survive the silence?

Or so she thought until she recieved an invitation to his wedding and the years melted away.
