Andy's parents died when she was really young, So she was forced to live with her grandmother, Anne, in Washington state.
When Andy actually gets accepted to Oxford she's ecstatic ready to leave Tacoma. She's only gets to stay a well in England when she finds out her grandmother has cancer and she doesn't have that long to live. Immediately she comes back home for the only family she has.
She comes back to see another family in her grandmother's house.
