Kylie Esperanza isn't very fond of anyone, anything, or even life itself. She doesn't have any friends, other than her mischievous locker neighbour Basil Brooks and his loveable best friend; Wesley Shepherd.

Wesley's part of a support group that takes place in the school, where he deals with his personal issues and tries to help his over-populated, dysfunctional family. When Kylie's asked by a teacher to take part in the support group, she seeks Wesley's advice, and Bas quickly jumps in to say he'll take part in the support group if she's willing to.

Agreeing, Wes guides Kylie and Bas to the school's support group, where they meet Jack, his smart mouthed brother, a blond girl with a bad attitude, and Summer; Wesley's infamous girlfriend.

After weeks of helping each other and sharing their stories, Wesley Shepherd is suddenly murdered, along with his sister who is put into a long, deep coma in the process, both of them leaving behind zero traces of evidence on who did it.
