For a slightly below average life, things aren't always easy for Callisto. Which is why moving out of her sad little West coast town and heading off to college in the vibrant East coast is the perfect way to create a road paved with opportunity. Although soft spoken and quiet, she's determined to succeed in the career of her dreams: Photojournalism. While focused on achieving success, she runs into a struggling musician who is just searching for recognition. The easy-going Ellis spends his time playing at local cafes and scoring any gigs that he can get, but it isn't enough to land him the big break. That is, unless he can get the publicity that Callisto could provide him.

The two form an interesting relationship as they both benefit from each other. Callisto tries getting Ellis's name out as she gets her foot in the door of the press industry. Meanwhile Ellis is a native to the city who can show Callisto all sorts of hidden gems and events for her to report, as well as giving her a story to use for the university paper. Using each other simply for success might not be the only bond they form, but their friendship gets tested as secrets are told, problems miles away catch up, and the two will pay the price that comes with fame.

Katelyn has been in and out of the foster system since her mother died when she was young. After her father gets put in jail again, she gets sent to live with the Thomas family. The Thomas's are a very well-off family with four boys. Their house is usually the main hangout for the boys and their friends. Kate hasn't ever lived with siblings before, let alone this many boys, so it's a big change for her. Daniel is your typical high school football player; he's got the looks, the muscles, talent, and even the overbearing dad who wants him to go pro. Daniel, however, really couldn't care less about a career in football, he loves the game, but it's his dad's dream for him to go pro, not his own. At least not anymore. He spends most of his free time away from his house and hanging out at either the Thomas or the Copperfield house. He can't wait to go off to college with his friends and get away from his dad and the stupid little town he grew up in. How will things change for them over the next year? This will be a series of 4, but the other books will be spin-offs and can be read as stand-alone books. They will, however, be published in chronological order. Full warning, this book is much shorter than I intend on making the spin-offs. I was planning on writing book two as the first in the series but found myself needing more of a prequel to all three other books, and so I chose to write something from their high school years. Bonus points for giving Daniel a love interest that was more than just a name.
