“What are you doing?” he questioned in a raspy voice.

“I always wondered about something.” She began to say, but he thought straight away that she was talking about his scar and he pulled her hand the rest of the way from his mouth, albeit reluctantly.

“I already told you how I got it.” She shook her head and he was drawn to the glossy movement of her hair and how the light from the fireplace was caught in the golden highlights, making them shine. He swallowed as she sat up and hovered over him, forcing him on his back to look up at her.

“Not that.” She tilted her face towards him and her gaze instantly dropped to his mouth. Shaking off his weakening hold on her hand and she reached for him. Her fingers fell on his cheeks, her thumb stroking the plush pillows that were his lips. “I was wondering what it would be like to kiss you.”
