In 1958 a negro girl named Emily start writing letters to her loved ones. She is forced into work at 15 as a nanny to a family named the Normans. They are a wealthy white family in an upper class part of Boston. Emily, struggles with the problems of discrimination against Black people living in America. She finds love with her new job and faces the consequences of forbidden love between her and her white lover. Their love causes many situations in the community. But, will they give into the pressure of racism or will they leave everything they believe in for the sake of love?
